We recently acquired the inventory of a large marine parts distributor that went out of business. This is a blemished stock item with a fair amount of dings and dents however the can is still sealed with all factory original contents still intact.

We were able to determine this is a 0.5 liter can of Marlin Yacht Paints 65.884.01 metal primer based on the part number located on the can itself.

This metal primer is used to coat other metals such as steel to prevent oxidation. In the case of tin, as with most pre-painted metals, primer is used primarily to provide a bonding surface for the paint to adhere to.
