We recently acquired the inventory of a large marine parts distributor that went out of business. This is new old stock hose that was left over from a spool in overall great condition.

We were able to determine this is a 1‘8″ long (1ft. 8in.) piece of Shields 252-2140 Shieldsaust-C Marine Wet Exhaust Hose based on the part number located on the item. This hose has an inside diameter of 2-1/4″ inches.

This hose is primarily used for wet exhaust connections with significant bends, engine intake, and scupper lines. Shieldsaust-C Hose has a black synthetic rubber tube and cover that is reinforced with double wire helix imbedded between plies of synthetic cord.

It is resistant to abrasions, exhaust fumes, ozone, mild chemicals, antifreeze, and saltwater. The temperature ranges from -20F to + 200F continuous, +250F intermittent. The hose now has double the ozone resistance required by SAEJ2006 and meets SAE J2006 Type R2 standards.
