We recently acquired the inventory of a large marine parts distributor that went out of business. This is a new old stock item in excellent condition however, the factory original packaging wasn’t salvageable.

We were able to determine this is a Volvo Penta 22037078 Active Corrosion Protection Kit based on a part number located on a label on the unit.

The Active Corrosion Protection (ACP) system offers highly efficient corrosion protection for Volvo Penta IPS installations. As a boat owner, you need not worry about insufficient protection or frequent maintenance of sacrificial anodes. Enjoy boating with peace of mind.

For Volvo Penta IPS installations
Up to four drives – can be protected by one ACP transom unit. This means less units mounted on the transom compared to conventional sacrificial anode protection

Easy to use
The ACP system is easy to use; the control unit automatically chooses the most suitable protection mechanism and requires no interaction with the driver

How does it work?
By using a triple redundant protection mechanism, where the ACP system automatically chooses the most suitable protection mode, it always offers reliable protection. Normal protection is precision control of impressed direct current through platinum-coated titanium anodes. If battery voltage is low (less than 75% loaded), the system will switch to controlled anode protection, instead of impressed direct current. Should the battery voltage be very low (less than 50% loaded), the system will be put on hold, and the anode will protect the IPS drive just like today’s sacrificial anodes. Since the ACP is a fully integrated part of the EVC system, the corrosion protection status can easily be obtained via the EVC display
