We recently acquired a large inventory of overstock items and spare components that were originally designated for installation on a vessel undergoing a major refit and repower project. When the project was halted prior to completion, all components were placed into storage.

This listing consists of a partial Rolls-Royce steering gear system. Based on the overall condition, we believe these components were recently refurbished and intended for installation as part of a larger steering system. Since we did not acquire the complete steering gear assembly, we are offering the major components individually and as a partial system to accommodate a wide range of replacement and retrofit applications.

Included in this offering are refurbished hydraulic gear motors & drivers, a valve block, and a rudder feedback unit. We also have Rolls-Royce schematics showing these components as part of the complete steering system and can provide additional information upon request.

The Group 2 bidirectional external hydraulic gear motor is a Sauer-Danfoss unit. We also acquired a spare motor that was damaged during transport. After carefully sanding the damaged identification plate, the model number was confirmed as SNM2NN/8,0BN02AA. Since all of these motors were removed from the same steering gear assembly, we believe they are identical and share this same part number.

The model designation is interpreted as follows:

SNM2NN – Group 2 bidirectional hydraulic gear motor (SNM2NN/8, 0BN02AA)
/8 – 8.0 cm³ displacement per revolution
B – Bidirectional rotation
N – Standard seals
02 – Mounting flange with an 80 mm pilot diameter and four-bolt mounting pattern
AA – Galvanized assembly screws

Each hydraulic gear motor is driven by an ABB 3GAA101312 three-phase electric motor, with the manufacturer's data plate remaining intact and legible. The valve block and feedback unit also retain their original Rolls-Royce identification numbers for reference.

Please note that we did not acquire the main rotary steering gear housing or the complete steering assembly. Accordingly, these components are being offered as individual replacement parts or as a partial steering system suitable for shipyards, vessel owners, and marine service providers performing repairs, refits, or equipment upgrades.
