We recently acquired a large inventory of overstock items from a boat manufacturer. These products originally arrived in the manufacturer's packaging; however, in some cases, the original packaging may not be suitable for shipping and has been replaced with new packaging. Items may also show minor cosmetic blemishes due to storage.

Please take note this cowling comes from a boat builder’s surplus inventory. Due to the high standards of the builder, it was set aside because of minor damage and was never used.

Unfortunately, it remained in storage and was neglected over time, resulting in cosmetic wear including scratches, nicks, and some fading. Overall, the cowling is structurally sound and may be suitable for repair and repainting.

Mapped to factory manufacturer part number 8M0142178 (often tagged in distribution inventory as 100-8M0142178).

Officially superseded by Mercury Marine to the latest functional factory replacement part number 8M0231234.

Pre-decaled with the primary "Mercury" brand insignias does include specific horsepower numbers (200), but universally applicable across the entire 175–225 HP 3.4L V6 block powerhead series.

Includes factory-installed internal air silencing foam, structural latch hooks, and water-exclusion rubber perimeter seals.
